I have true respect for dancers and especially ballerinas. The body control, the strength, the elegance and the sheer gracefulness of their motions is wonderful to watch. I have had the pleasure of going to the ballet a few times (as recently as this weekend) and my admiration for them remains the same.

The aspects of dedication transcend the individual art or piece being performed. The true art lies in becoming as one with the piece or kata.
I often tell my students: do not JUST do your kata, perform your kata. Bring it to life by allowing your soul to show through your movements. That is where the real art lies.
