Here in the UK, my perception is that whilst there is plenty of contemporary dance to be enjoyed, it is rarely high profile and therefore is difficult to seek out. I'm excited to see this blog and hope you'll cover global developments in the dance world too.

As a person who generally sees personal movement of the body as a mode of linear transportation (ie, a way to expand a person's experience through exploring new neighbourhoods, venues, countries and cultures) I welcome this opportunity to learn about and experience movement in a different way.

This is a new concept for me: Rather than a a simple method through which we can collect more inputs, our own movement can itself be a form of artistic output. ie, a swim in the beautiful blue Adriatic Sea could be more than a way to view the surrounding coastline and marine life, but a form of expression in itself. Through this approach, it would seem we can be part of the places we visit, rather than just a spectator.

This is just one of the ways that I see the potential of this blog for expanding the perspective of novices such as myself.
